The circus is no place for children after dark
“The Circus is no place for children after dark” is the rollicking song that concludes Act One of the Circus of the Damned.

Laura discovers that the circus life has a dark and sombre underside. The performers drink laudanum – opium mixed with cheap gin – and engage in all sorts of bizarre and despicable acts. Laura wonders if she has made the right decision to run away and join the circus with these people – but she is a murderer, and cannot return.
The ring master – a rascal and scoundrel – will try and seduce the girl with his cunning words. Will she fall from grace? Or has she already fallen?
